About Me:

The latest news about me can be found on my website, where I am journaling my experiences with breast cancer. Please leave me a msg if you visit my pages, and let me know if you enjoyed reading them.

I've lived in Northern Indiana all but the first 1/2 year of my life. I have been married 38 years, as of Nov. 2009 to Marcus N . We have 3 children 37, 37, and 27 (2 oldest are boys). All 3 have graduated from college with BAs and all 3 are married to delightful people that have become wonderful members of our family.

I now have 3.5 grandbabies, the first & 3rd girls from our daughter, Karen, the second a boy from our second son, Eric. You can see pics of both on my website above. I also have a fully grown grandson from our first son's wife, he's just a bit younger than our daughter. The first time I met him, he was about 16, and I asked him if I could be his grandma at that time, and he hugged me and said "Sure!" So, that was when I got my first grandSON, but just recently got my first grandbaby BOY. They are both very special to me.

I love chocolate (almost as much as I love my hubby :) and that's saying alot!) My favorite candy is chocolate covered chocolate! hahaha I especially like the coconut chocolate candy, can't think what it is called, besides the commercial Mounds and Almond Joy, which are yummy :) Oh, and turtles and chocolate covered cherries!

I love flavored coffee and coffee flavorings. And I like Irish coffee, French Vanilla coffee, and Chocolate in coffee is terrific too :)

I read mostly fantasy fiction , I'm not too much into the futuristic sci-fi, but some of the futuristic stuff by Marion Zimmer Bradley and similar types are ok.  I don't read romance except highlander historical fiction, even tho we have a lot of other types listed on our shelves. I have recently been listening to a lot of mystery audios with DH as we sit together and play on our computers. I'm very fond of Patricia Cornwell now, but only in audios with him :)

I spend a lot of time on the computer. I surf, read email, read PBS forums!, try new software, and look for software and websites to share with others. I also work on computers and build them. Just as a hobby, I have sarcoidosis and cannot work full time.

I like plants. My husband has the green thumb tho. We have a nice little indoor garden and some nice outdoor flower beds in nicer weather. I'm fond of unique plants that can be grown indoors and various cactus, I only have a couple, but just bought a variety pack of cactus seeds, so we will see what I get :) I have two tabletop fountains, they give a nice atmosphere with all the indoor plants.

I love anything with butterflies. I love windchimes, we have very small to very large. I collect oil lamps, from mini's to large regular ones. I enjoy candles, but like the tarts best, I think. I have 4 warmers :)

My taste in music includes country (current, not much into classic), easy listening, romance, classical, instrumentals, and oldies (50' & 60's). I love Kenny G and Barry Manilow. I have an mp3 player so am working on converting my music for that.

My favorite color is medium blue (real specifically, Ford's Bright Atlantic Blue, but medium is close enough :)  I also really like purple and red. Other good colors include pink, any blue, turquise, emerald or hunter shades of green, buttery yellow, white, black, actually anything except:   Mauve and the equilvalent country blue - Yucky!   Really bright yellows (except as accents)   Periodot or lime greens (even tho periodot is my BS)   Most oranges (unless they are subtle and combined with earthtones)

Because of my Sarcoidosis, I can't do earrings at all anymore, except the earwraps and cuffs. Zannedelions http://www.zannedelions.com/  is one great place to get them. Their's are not as expensive as others, altho they are all way too much! Also, because of the Sarcoid, I'm on Prednisone, and that has made me a BBW. My bracelet size is 7.5-8 (my wrist just slightly loose is about a 7-3/4". My necklace size is 20-24".

If my books don't interest you, check out my DH's, one of us is bound to have something you like! Marcus N .
